What happened in B.C?
The English invaded the native land of the aboriginal people (we now call that land Canada) and they had invaded that land because they thought everything was theirs and then they started sending them to residential schools to assimilate them, but that was only after they took part in a "war".
Tell me about Aboriginal Culture
Aboriginal people were peaceful people that only killed animals for food and used all of the supplies and didn't waste anything. Some of the aboriginal people participated in circles which was a way of talking to each other so that everyone`s needs could be met kind of
What were residential schools
Residenial schools are boarding schools that the English made to assimilate aboriginal people to the English/Cristian culture.
What happend to families.
In most of the residential schools children were able to go home for the summer, but in some of them children wern't able to go back home intil they finished school.
Whoes land are we on.
We are on the land of the Coast Salish people of British Columbia.
1. What is Cole's Idea to cure Peter's Depression? How Does Edwin react to this suggestion.Cole's idea is to bring Peter to the island. Edwin Thinks its impossible but he tries it anyway.
2. Do you think its a good idea for peter to go to the island? Why or why not.
I think it is a good idea for Peter to go to the island to heal.
3. About two weeks after Cole's suggestion who arrives at the island.
Peter and his family along with Garvie and Edwin.
4. Peter blurts"Leave me alone" how is this like Cole's first impression about Garvie and Edwin.
Peter's time on the island is exactally the same as Cole's.
I think that I should get a restitution of 1 000 dollars for the cast that had to be put on my skull and also for the therapy that I am going to have to go through (and that my parents also have to pay for). That therapy is going to help me with my nightmares and also to help me get the courage to go back to school even when Cole gets out of prison.
I am going to explain all of the injuries I sustained from the attack. I got major brain damage from the attack rendering my speech almost useless and making it so that I have to be doing something with my hands if I'm talking to someone or else I will stop concentrating on the conversation. Also I now have a huge dent in my skull from it being pounded into the concrete, not only that but my vision often blurs up.
That was only my injuries now I'm going to explain what happened to my life socially. I lost all of the few friends that I had before the attack and the only people that wanted to hang out with me were only doing it because they pity me. That would have been fine I would have made new friends but my mom decided to put me in a different school because she was scared that when Cole came back from were ever he's going he was going to beat me up again, so I lost all my friends and moved to a different school.
Now on to how the attack changed me emotionally. I now wake up every night screaming because I keep having the same dream about when I got beat up but that's about it for emotionaly.
I am going to talk about the incident between me and Cole Mathews.
It was a rainy Tuesday September 27 and Cole was bragging about how he had broken into a hardware store and then trashed it so naturally I had to to report the cops about the break in.
Cole immediately knew it was me who "ratted" him out. so after school he confronted me in the parking lot and started beating me up my blood was dripping on the ground because of the rain. the next thing i knew was that I blacked out and I was obviously bleeding every were because I had blood in my eyelids.
SALT, FLOUR, EGGS, BAKING SODA, WATER, SUGAR, BUTTER and MOLASSES.
Those are the ingredients in the cake that Garvie made in Touching spirit bear he also made Cole sample all of the ingredients before he gave him some of the cake. In this blog I am going to explain each of those ingredients as a metaphor.
Lets start with the Salt it is a metaphor on Cole's personality how it is all Salty and awful.
Next the Flour it represents how Cole makes other people feel like if he makes them scared then he will blow them away until they feel all scattered around inside (or in Peters case outside).
Now the Eggs they represent how Peter felt when he was being beaten up by Cole all scrambled and broken (they also kinda represent Cole after he was mauled by the bear).
Now we're going to talk about the Baking Soda it represents how Cole beating up Peter just made his anger for Cole rise.
Next I will talk about the Water it represents how the last thing that Cole did to break the law (beating up Peter) washed away all of the trust that Cole's parents had in him.
Now for the Sugar it represents how Cole had to sweet talk all of the people at circle justice to get them to let him into the program.
Now i'm going to do Butter it represents how Cole thought that he could just slip out of prison after committing crimes.
And finally the Molasses it represents how after the last crime Cole committed he got caught like he was trapped in molasses.
Global issues are things that happen globally and are issues like wars, pollution or poverty. etc.
a global issue that I am interested in is Poverty, I would raise awareness for poverty by telling people about it or giving money to charities that raise awareness for poverty.
My opinion on poverty is that people should be paying more attention to poverty and helping people who don`t have that much money but they shouldn`t be getting any special attention.
